Facing Cancer Together

Support groups provide hope.
The Wellness Community
provides support, education and hope

The Wellness Community provides comprehensive support for people with cancer and their loved ones.

We are here for people newly diagnosed, during and after treatment, through long-term survivorship or advanced disease. All of our programs are provided free of charge.

You and your family members can choose to take part in a variety of programs designed to help you learn more about cancer, and to manage your treatment and recovery as effectively as possible. You can learn from others with similar experiences. You can also use mind/body programs to assist in coping with cancer, strengthening your immune system, and moving toward recovery.  We can face cancer together.

We would like to thank Genentech and the San Francisco Giants for teaming up with Strike Out Cancer for the fifth consecutive year and supporting The Wellness Community. This year we celebrated Strike Out Cancer Day on May 11th at AT&T Park hosted by Genentech and the San Francisco Giants. The Wellness Community receives $200 for every home game strike out, which will total $100,000 for the 2008 season.

This year’s Strides for Hope Marathon team raised more than $130,000 to support the programs and services of The Wellness Community. This tremendous achievement will underwrite services for 133 people and their families affected by cancer in the coming year.

We extend our sincere thanks to the 70 team members, all of their supporters and our presenting sponsor BBR, for helping us achieve our goals!
